Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of Generation Z ideology in TikTok content produced by the @rianfahardhi account using Ruth Wodak's Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK) approach. The purpose of the study is to identify the ideology contained in the content, understand the influence of the socio-cultural context on the production of discourse, and explore the interaction between power and ideology on the TikTok platform. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, relying on data in the form of TikTok videos, content descriptions, and user interactions. The results of the study show that the ideology displayed reflects the values of inclusivity, courage to express identity, and concern for social and environmental issues. The socio-cultural context, both local and global, plays an important role in shaping discursive strategies such as nomination, predication, and argumentation. In addition, the TikTok algorithm acts as a gatekeeper in regulating the distribution and reach of discourse, showing the interaction between digital power and the production of ideology. This study emphasizes that TikTok is not only an entertainment platform, but also a space for producing and reproducing Generation Z ideology, which is influenced by social, cultural, and technological dynamics. These findings enrich the study of social media, Generation Z, and critical discourse analysis in the digital context.
