Abstract

The aims of this study is to increase students’ motivation and learning outcomes through online learning home based experiment model inquiry based learning on metabolism material. The type of the research is classroom action research and the research subject are students of class XII MIPA7 at SMA Negeri 2 Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, documentation, and online written tests. The inquiry based learning model is used through the following stages: 1) discovery learning; 2) interactive demonstration; 3) inquiry lesson; 4) inquiry laboratory; 5) real-world applications. The data collected from the research instruments in the first cycle were then compared with the data in the second cycle. The results showed that the implementation of online learning based on experiment Inquiry Based Learning model has increased 1) the mean of students' learning motivation by 0.2 points, from 3.8 to 4, especially on indicators of  career motivation; 2) the mean of students' character attitude by 0.2 points from 3.8 to 4, especially on the indicators of struggling power; 3) the mean score of students' home based experiment project by 1.93 points from 96.13 to 98.06; and 4) the mean score of students' daily assessments by 2.42 points, from 74.19 to 76.61. From the results of this classroom action research it can be concluded that the online learning home based experiment model of Inquiry Based Learning within the TPCK framework is able to increase the motivation and learning outcomes of students in class XII MIIA7 SMA Negeri 2 Yogyakarta.
