Pengembangan Buku Panduan Pendidikan Karakter Optimis Berbasis Permainan Tradisional Untuk Anak Usia 10-12 Tahun
Abstract
The children’s capitulate behavior, the lack of self-recognition, and the lack of motivation reflect a low optimistic character. This research aims to develop a character education handbook for 10-12 years old children. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) type ADDIE involving ten elementary school teachers for the needs analysis. There were ten validators consisting of five elementary school teachers, four expert lecturers, and one cultural practitioner who acted as expert judges. Eight children participated in the character education handbook limited trial. The results of this study showed that 1) The traditional game basis of an f optimistic character education handbook for 10-12 years old children was developed through the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages; 2) the character education handbook had an "excellent" qualification which was shown through the acquisition of a score of 3,94 (scale 1-4) with "no revision needed" suggestion; and 3) the character education handbook implementation affected the children's optimistic characters depending on the significance T-test with the score t(7) = 18.834 ; p < 0.05. The magnitude of the effect is r = 0.9903 qualified as the "big effect" qualification equivalent to 98.06%. The handbook had a "high" effectiveness level based on the N-gain score calculation which showed a 90.36% percentage. In conclusion, the character education handbook was used effectively due to its effects on 10-12-year-old children's optimistic character.
