Penerapan Strategi Pemodelan dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Menulis Esai

Abstract

This classroom action research is entitled Application of Modeling Strategy Implementation in Improving Essay Writing Skills for Class XII Social Sciences 2 Students at SMA Negeri 10 Yogyakarta in the 2021/2022 Academic Year. The main objective of this research is to explain the learning process and the results of improving students' skills in writing Indonesian essays through modeling strategies. This research uses an action research study with two cycles. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics. The data of this research are in the form of essay writing, value data, documents and observations. The results of data collection were processed qualitatively and quantitatively. From these data, the results of learning to write Indonesian essays for class XII IPS 2 students were obtained using a modeling strategy. Of the 33 students during the initial test, only 12 or 36.36% managed to get a score above the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) set by SMAN 10 Yogyakarta which was 75 or an average value of 72.68. After the implementation of the action the score increased to 82 ,24 in cycle 1 became 90.09 in cycle 2. The condition of completeness presentation was 100%. Similar conditions also occur in the results of observations on student activities in participating in learning. The results of the observation there are aspects of student activity in learning in the first cycle the average score is 59 or a value of 92, 18 increases to a score of 62 or a value of 96.87 in the second cycle II.
