The Implementation of Graphic Organizer Venn Diagram Strategy to Improve Text Writing Skills of the Study's Observation Report
Abstract
This class action research aims to improve the text writing skills of the study's observation report. The strategy used is the Graphic Organizer-Venn Diagram strategy. This Graphic Organizer-Venn Diagram strategy encourages learners to identify the characteristics of objects to be observed and used as data material in writing observation report text. The characteristics of the identified object are then written into the venn diagram according to the specified steps. This fact-containing diagram venn is used by the learnersas a source to write the observation report text. This research was conducted on students of class X MIPA 2 of SMA Negeri 2 Wates, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. In cycle I, the results showed that only 9 learners or about 25% obtained grades according to the success criteria. Learners who are motivated during learning are also only 25%. In cycle II, the results showed that more than 80% of learners felt that learning to write the observation report text using the Graphic Organizer-Venn Diagram strategy was interesting and fun. The text writing skills of the study's observation report also increased after the implementation of this strategy, in which more than 75% of learners have achieved success criteria by obtaining a score of more than 75. To be Precised 100% of learners in cycle II have achieved the success criteria.
